About Us

A Note from Stacy
It is an absolute labor of love to work with my clients on these personal, intimate perspectives of their lives. I am passionate about the preservation of these stories and find people and their experiences fascinating. I am privileged to help clients who do not have the time or expertise to record their own family histories. Allow your future to discover its past; ensure that your life and the lives of those you love will not be lost with time.

Bind These Words was founded by Stacy Kaeser Derby. As a third-generation Holocaust survivor, Stacy has spent much time listening to family members recollect first-hand accounts of their upheaval and survival in Europe. Around the time of her wedding, she recognized the importance of capturing her own grandparents’ story for her husband and someday for their children. Stacy interviewed her own mother about her deceased grandmother, digging through old memories and old photos together. The book creation process was profoundly rewarding, inspiring Stacy to shift her corporate writing career toward helping others preserve their personal histories.

An empathic listener, Stacy captures both the spoken and the unspoken meaning of life events and molds relevant memories into captivating stories. Stacy holds a History degree (Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Illinois and Oxford University, and a Masters degree from the London School of Economics. She is a member of the Association of Personal Historians.
